Clang! Clang! Clang! went the....

Taken Monday, April 17 in Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland's first subway travelled much like Toronto's Bloor-Danforth line does over the Don valley: through a viaduct. In Cleveland's case, it was simply putting the streetcars underground, whereas in Toronto, it's a full-fledged heavy-rail subway. The Detroit-Superior bridge hasn't been used for tram traffic since 1954, the same year subway service started (albeit not on the Bloor line) in Toronto. Nowadays, Cleveland's Waterfront line runs beneath the old bridge, from which this photo was taken.
