At Peace

Cancer claims another soul. Thank you, Petra, for your guidance, your support and for pushing me to get the damn reports done on time!

We miss you.

I'm Lovin' ....Myself

I don't know about you, but the vision of masturbating McNuggets is a tad....disturbing.

Of course, this just begs the question "What kind of sauce do they serve with a masturbating McNugget?"

The (Better) Way To God

Now....typically I'm not the type to take photos in a public bathroom, particularly one on the TTC where the stench is enough (I'm positive) to melt sensitive electronics. During one particularly urgent rest stop, I found something so amazing, so uplifting, so.....INSPRING.... I just had to pee on it.

Letchworth State Park

On this most hallowed of (Canadian) holidays, I spent the (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend doing something very Canadian, I went to the U.S. When not shopping, my wife and I took the time to explore a beautiful part of New York State called Letchworth State Park. I liken it to Niagara Falls without the hotels and tacky souvenir shops. With the explosive autumn colours as a backdrop and a gentle haze as a filter, it was a perfect day for a stroll along the river.

And to take a few photos, too.

95 Days 'Til.....

The good boys and girls at GO Transit would like to wish you, the riding public, a most un-PC greeting in advance of the approaching, yet still mighty distant, Holiday season.

...and to all, a good night!

Taken (with a rather crappy camera-phone) on Friday, September 21 at the Finch GO Terminal, Toronto, Ontario.

Well y'know...a trip to the Ex wouldn't have been complete without watching that wonderful display of aerobatics /slash/ waste of fuel called the Canadian International Airshow. Great to watch, horrible to photograph with yer standard point-and-shoot jobbie. Alas, the Snowbirds briefly slowed down just long enough for me to snap a few....

For the fourth time this tour, I was able to see the lads play, this time just a short Dufferin bus ride away from their home in west-end Toronto. The gig was very loose, a lot of fun and you could tell that this was the end of the road for this particular tour. Nice to see them mix up the set list a little this time, too. Here's a few snaps....

One Woman's Shelter

In a world where most people dress for comfort, it was somewhat of a thrill to see a woman glammed up at lunch hour. To see them stand sensually while doing something as mundane as waiting for their bus was too good an opportunity not to capture.

With the deaths of two more soldiers being announced this evening, I reacted with a head-shake, a "Why?", and a wonder. When will this insanity end?

Oughta waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Boy what a vacation! Three days in the nation's capital full of gettingstuckinanelevatorwith15mexicankidsforanhour, identity theft, and STILL an utter and complete lack of Record Runner (my personal disappointment). Despite all that, we managed to have a lovely time, and I managed to snap a few shots.

En route, we stopped in Westport, which frankly seems to be a sort of Niagara-on-the-Lake for white people without much money. Which of course, suited me just fine. Some of what I saw included...

Once we made it to Ottawa, we noticed that it was being overrun by a massive spider.

Well OK, it wasn't exactly running anywhere, but it did look kinda spooky.

Then I found that the Bridgehead coffee house in Lowertown was being attacked by cats.

And of course, you can't forget the influx of 21st century yuppies to the Market area. I'm sure the fumes from the STO buses will make for sound sleeps.

Of course, some housing is somewhat puzzling.

Oh, Hi there.

Ahh....back to the hotel. I tell ya, the Quality Hotel on Rideau just oozes quality. If by 'quality' I mean lousy service, useless staff and elevators that just refuse to elevate.
