Meanwhile, further down Bay Street, another transformation is under way, replacing flaking/falling marble from the face of First Canadian Place (named after what would have been "First Canadian Bank", the new name for Bank of Montreal should Quebec have separated in 1976) with a more durable glass face. Sure it looks nice, but could you imagine the Windex bill?

The former "Bay Street Motel" flophouse appears to have finally evicted its last cockroach and is about to start a new life. Until that happens, its state of disrepair, or disrepaint, makes for an interesting subject.
